Dear Besrour African Colleagues,
First official Besrour Café: Tuesday, January 28th, 2020, 6:30am EST: Approach to (skills needed for) facilitating residents’ learning.
Thank you for your interest in the Besrour Café. You will have received an invitation to participate in this very first official Café! Please ensure you have RSVP’d. If you have not received the invitation, please advise. A few key points to set the stage follows below:
Objectives: Besrour Café is meant to be a collaborative learning capacity building platform that aims to empower all participants to learn from each other in order to better improve their own skills and help evolve their Family Medicine programs.
Philosophy: To learn and build capacity from sharing our learned experiences with one another.
Expectation: To be an active participant, to promote a safe place that allows for those to be vulnerable and share and reflect on one’s own experiences.
Language: We will interpret and paraphrase all comments and facilitation in French and English to allow all of our colleagues to benefit from each other’s wisdom! Your patience with us is appreciated. We will look for feedback on how the interpretation process goes, after the session. Note: Francophones may find it helpful to type questions/comments in the messaging pane of the Zoom window.
Follow up: Following every Besrour Café session, participants will receive a summary email from the facilitators with key points shared, along with highlighting if anyone offered to send a long any resources to the group. The group may use the group email to send off any relevant articles or resources that they wish to share as it pertains to the Café discussion.
Recording: This meeting will be recorded for reference purposes.
Prior to each Besrour Café session we will send a brief email outlining the topic and reminding people of the date.

Premier Café Besrour officiel : Le mardi 28 janvier 2020, 6 h 30 (HE) : Approche (compétences requises) pour faciliter l’apprentissage des résidents.
Merci de votre intérêt pour le Café Besrour. Vous devriez avoir reçu une invitation à participer à la toute première édition officielle du Café ! Assurez-vous d’avoir confirmé votre participation. Si vous n’avez pas reçu l’invitation, veuillez nous en aviser. Voici quelques points importants en prévision de cet événement :
Objectifs : Conçu comme une plateforme collaborative de renforcement des capacités d’apprentissage, le Café Besrour a pour objectif d’amener les participants à apprendre les uns des autres afin de consolider leurs propres compétences et de contribuer à faire évoluer leurs programmes de médecine familiale.
Philosophie : Apprendre et renforcer nos capacités en partageant nos expériences
Attentes : Participer activement, veiller à instaurer un lieu sécuritaire où chacun peut s’autoriser à être vulnérable, réfléchir à ses propres expériences et les partager avec les autres
Langue : Nous interpréterons et expliquerons tous les commentaires et animerons en français et en anglais, afin que chacun de nos collègues puisse bénéficier de la sagesse des autres ! Nous vous savons gré de faire preuve de patience avec nous. Après la séance, nous recueillerons des commentaires sur le déroulement du processus d’interprétation. Remarque : les francophones pourraient trouver utile de taper leurs questions/commentaires dans l’écran de message de la fenêtre Zoom.
Suivi : Après chaque séance, les facilitateurs enverront aux participants un courriel récapitulant les principaux points abordés et indiquant si un participant a offert d’envoyer des ressources aux membres du groupe. Le courriel de groupe peut être utilisé pour partager des ressources ou articles pertinents se rapportant à la discussion suscitée par le Café.
Enregistrement : La séance sera enregistrée pour fins de référence.
Avant chaque séance du Café, nous enverrons aux participants un bref courriel pour leur préciser le thème qui sera abordé et leur rappeler la date de la séance.
