Rural Round Up: Delhi WONCA Rural conference report
Many have just returned from an extremely successful WONCA World Rural Health conference in Delhi. Dr Pratyush Kumar, chair of the Host Organising committee and Dr Raman Kumar President of the Academy of Family Physicians of India report on the many aspects of this wonderful event.
Resources added in May
Some extra PEARLS have been sourced for this month. Practical Evidence About Real Life Situations (PEARLS) are brief summaries of Cochrane Primary care systematic reviews with the answer in the title (so you only read the ones you like). And there are a few new Goodfellow GEMS as well. Goodfellow Gems are chosen by the Goodfellow Unit (New Zealand) director Dr Bruce Arroll to be either practice changing or practice maintaining. Here is the latest example “Shorter courses of antibiotics, more intensive dosing regimens and reserving broader spectrum antibiotics for specific scenarios.”
WONCA Conferences 2020
We are all looking forward to the WONCA World conference in Seoul in October 2018, but for many thoughts are also turning to future events. Last week, we listed the 2019 WONCA conferences. Some 2020 dates are also already known, so save the date!

21 – 22 April 2020: VIII Cumbre Iberoamericana de Medicina Familiar in San Juan, Puerto Rico
24 – 27 June 2020: Europe region conference in Berlin, Germany
26 – 29 November 2020: WONCA World conference in Abu Dhabi, UAE
