WONCA: Searching for a new CEO
Dr Garth Manning, our current CEO, has indicated that he will be stepping down from his current role in December 2020. We are beginning the search for a successor; please read and circulate the attached advertisement widely to anyone who might be interested in applying.
Education for Primary Care – Free access article
Education for Primary Care: 30:2 is now online: It is opened by some thoughts on our increasingly culturally complex world: https://doi.org/10.1080/14739879.2019.1591170 and offers a range of papers from Australia, Denmark, Japan, Netherlands, and the UK. Undergraduate training in rural Scotland and Japan alongside postgraduate training across Europe are all covered.
We have chosen to offer Free Access or 4 weeks from April 19th to a paper from Scotland. Bartlett et al describe the Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship in General Practice piloted for medical students in Scotland: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/14739879.2018.1564889. Evidence is accruing that these attachments positively support student learning on holistic care and work well in the rural context . This model may well be a step to improve contact with Family Medicine in medical schools globally.

A further reminder about the WONCA Europe conference which will take place in Bratislava, Slovak Republic, from 26th to 29th June. Keynote speakers include Richard Hobbs, Ana Nunes Barata, Barbara Ukropcová and Bohumil Seifert.
