OME damage can be seen very clearly and right away. But harm can also take years to show itself. The torment of Palestine and the West’s role in it have caused both types of damage.
As the world this week noted that we are a year into the most severe assault on a civilian population since World War Two, the Israeli state’s onslaught spilled over into Lebanon and a regional war has become a real possibility.
Much ink has been spilled on these events and so it is easy to lose track of what is happening. In essence, the Israeli state, which regards Palestinians as lesser beings and its neighbours as obstacles to its desire to dominate, has been running amok for a year.
