For most Israelis, the war has become routine. They’ve learned to live with it. It’s uncomfortable, they think, but there’s no other choice.
Of course, not everyone shares in this sense of complacency — the bereaved, the survivors, the wounded, the evacuees, and the families of those still held hostage in Gaza. And, of course, Israel’s Palestinian citizens, many of whom have lost friends or relatives in the besieged Strip, and have watched in horror as their Jewish neighbors and colleagues justify Israel’s brutal onslaught.
