Research Entry Requirements
For Potential Researchers
To ensure productive engagement with our research group, we require all potential researchers to complete preliminary preparation before joining our research meetings.
Required Documents:
- PhD candidates: PhD Research Concept Note with Matrix
- Masters candidates: Masters Research Concept Note with Matrix
Research Protocol Development Support: We encourage all potential researchers to review the AfroPHC videos which provide step-by-step guidance for developing research protocols suitable for ethics committee submission.
Enrol in the EGPRN Course on Research in PHC: Non-members may take the course by creating an EGPRN account and go to the course enrollment page. Fee for non-members is 100€, payable online so please consider becoming an EGPRN member as the course is free for members and becoming a members has many advantages.
Concept Note Submission Requirements:
- Concept Notes must be submitted before admission to research meetings
- While detailed initially, bullet point format is acceptable to start
- Demonstrates engagement with relevant literature and thoughtful consideration of research focus
- Commitment to a 24-month research timetable with accountability milestones
- Monthly progress updates to facilitate support when needed
- Participation in researcher presentations with senior researcher reviews
- Active engagement with research group activities and peer collaboration
