Our communications with Mr Hirsch has reached a stalemate. Mr Hirsch very disingenuously reneged on his written undertaking to KZN Palestine Solidarity Forum to delist Soda Stream.
Mr Hirsch is adamant that he will continue stocking Soda Stream even though we have made him aware not only about Apartheid Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestine, but also of the very brutal genocide that is still unfolding.
Soda Stream is a bottling company whose factory is in Israel. Soda Stream has been successfully boycotted for many years internationally. Soda Stream’s complicity in the illegal occupation, and human rights violations against Palestinians is well documented.
We request the community to actively Boycott Hirsch ( call Hirsch or visit a store to complain about Hirsch’s insistence on stocking Soda Stream; please take to social media and share videos, images of Israel’s genocide to Hirsch’s social media platforms ). Those that are able to, “shop out” Sodastream or protest outside a Hirsch store and share to social media, pls remember to tag KznPsf and Hirsch as well.

Apologies, a bit late to the conversation. Came across this article when searching for “is Hirsch on the boycott list?”…. what doesn’t make sense to me is if we boycott Hirsch for stocking Soda Stream, then what of the Muslim owned businesses like restaurants, wholesalers, shops, etc that stock Coca Cola and Simba and Cadburys and so on and so on? Am I missing something? Is the owner of Hirsch a Zionist or supporter of Israel? Please clarify.
