Recently, a young man named Djuan reached out with deep curiosity about Islam, seeking clarity on key differences between Islam and Christianity and how he could be a good Muslim while still struggling with sins. His concerns echoed those of many who contemplate converting: how to balance faith with personal habits, how sins are viewed, and whether perfection is required.
In Islam, God (Allah) created humans knowing they would sin, but He is also the Most Forgiving and Merciful. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ emphasized that the best of sinners are those who repent. The journey to righteousness is gradual—one enters Islam first, then strengthens faith through prayer, learning, and good deeds, reducing sin over time.
Key differences between Christianity and Islam were discussed:
1.God’s Nature – Islam rejects the Trinity, affirming God’s absolute oneness.
2.Jesus – Muslims see him as a prophet, not divine.
3.Son of God? – Islam considers all humans as God’s creation, not literal children.
4.Original Sin & Atonement – In Islam, each person is accountable for their actions. No one else carries their sins.
5.Jesus’ Crucifixion – Islam teaches that Jesus was not crucified but raised to Heaven.
Djuan also asked about relationships. Islam forbids casual dating, advocating marriage for genuine commitment. Muslim men can marry Jewish or Christian women if they are chaste and religious.
After clarifying his doubts, Duan embraced Islam by declaring the Shahada (testimony of faith). Overwhelmed with happiness, he felt at peace. Now, his journey begins—with learning, prayer, and community support.
May Allah guide and bless all who seek the truth.
